The Cook County Board of Review has issued its first round of decisions from the 2025 property tax appeal session, which opened in July 2025. Taxpayers in six of the County’s 38 townships have now received assessment decisions, which will be reflected on property tax bills payable this year. Additional rounds of decisions are expected later this month.
Cook County first-installment property tax bills are typically due March 1. However, legislation approved late last year moved the due date back one month for taxes payable in 2026. As a result, first-installment bills will be due April 1 this year only. Taxpayers should expect bills to be mailed within the next few weeks.
